About UTECH Las Americas
UTECH Las Americas is part of the suite of UTECH polyurethane events, owned and organized by Urethanes Technology International (part of Crain Communications’ Global Polymer Group). The 3-day event is co-organized with Tarsus Mexico and is the only exhibition and conference in Latin America dedicated exclusively to the polyurethanes industry.
Visitors attend the show to see the latest solutions and technologies from key suppliers, network with industry leaders, and stay up to date with recent developments during the technical conference program.
The 4th edition of the show will take place at Centro Citibanamex in Mexico City, Mexico, on June 13-15, 2023. It is perfectly positioned geographically to be easily accessible from across the continents, making it a must attend for anyone working within the polyurethane industry.
Entry to the exhibition is free of charge. There is a fee to attend the conference sessions.
Mexican Polyurethanes Industry
Mexico is an export hub, and the outlook for foreign trade in 2022 and beyond is favorable and could rise by 22% in the region, according to the UN Economic Commission for Latin America. This will be driven by demand from the U.S., EU and returning economic activity in the region.
The construction industry is forecast to grow by 5.6% in 2022 as the region benefits from the spill-over effects of recent U.S. stimulus packages, and strong growth in China.
Mexico is a fast-growing producer of goods for export. Figures from the USITC show it has become a more important importer of footwear to the U.S. It was the country’s 7th most important source of footwear in 2018 and in 2020 it had risen to third. Mexico was also the largest source of imported refrigerators to the U.S. between 2018 and 2020.
