At Lambiotte he was Director of Research and Development since 1990 till his retirement in 2021. He has developed the knowledge on acetals and their uses in various fields, including aerosols, fuels, amino resins ... He received a BSc and a MSc Degree in 1977. Till 1983 he did a PhD study in the Department of Organic Chemistry of the University of Louvain-la-Neuve in Belgium. He worked on iminium salts chemistry, organometallic chemistry and the chemistry of free radicals. In 1984, he occupied a position at the Feinberg Graduate School of the Weizmann Institute of Science in the Department of Neurobiology and the Department of Organic Chemistry, working on the chemistry of kainic acid and of heterocyclic and organophosphorous compounds. In 1987, he was assistant Professor at the Department of Organic Chemistry of the University of Namur (Belgium), where he worked on selenium and beryllium chemistry. In 1989, he was researcher at the Department of Pharmacy of the University of Louvain-en-Woluwe (Belgium), where he worked on penicillin’s.

In 1996, started his professional career as an industrial machine and system engineer at DESMA Schuhmaschinen GmbH, a machine manufacturer in the footwear industry. After 4 years at DESMA in Germany he had an opportunity to join DESMEX, the trade representative for DESMA and ACMOS products in Mexico. With 9 years field experience as a sales representative in Mexico, Hendrik came back to Germany to join ACMOS Chemie KG in Bremen in 2009. He speaks fluent in English, German, and Spanish.

Dr Groome completed his PhD and post-doctoral studies in physical chemistry and polymerisation at heriot watt university in Edinburgh Scotland. Following this he spent 3 years working on projects involving suspension polymerisation based on ICI PVC technology. Dr Groome has been part of the polyurethane industry for approximately 35 years. He has been extensively involved with ICI / Huntsman on rigid polyether polyol developments and production. He was also involved with the same companies in polyurethane systems developments and production, this has included rigid/flexible blends for various applications , elastomer blends , prepolymers ( aromatic / aliphatic ) for case applications . During this period in the polyurethane industry he has also been involved with Dow on the production of flexible polyols for conventional foam production, hotcure / coldcure processes and elastomer applications.

With more than 20 years of experience in the industry, his technical expertise is in Flexible Slabstock foam, Molded Foam, PU Systems and Prepolymers. He initiated his career with Polioles SA in Toluca Mexico in 1985. He joined Carpenter Co. in 2011. Prior to Carpenter he had professional assignments with Flexible Products Co, Hampshire Chemical, Dow Chemical and Owens Corning. He started his career at Kuraray co., Ltd in Japan as an organic chemist developing aroma chemicals, pesticides intermediates, etc. with catalytic reaction technology. Philipp is a Project Manager at IAL responsible for research and client management of polyurethanes and thermal insulation market programme. He joined IAL in 2016 and has worked on various market reports, including SPF/OCF, PUDs, TPU and thermal insulation, and has also been heavily involved in our flagship reports PU EMEA, PU APAC, and PU Americas. He has also worked extensively on single-client studies focusing on polyurethanes and thermal insulation.

Philipp’s studies combined work experience with an extensive company-funded education programme in Graz, Austria, practical experience in various fields, tailored polyurethane courses and an internal education system focused on organic chemistry. Philipp spent four years at Cytec (now Allnex), working in the research and development of water-based polyurethane resins.

After moving to the UK, Philipp gained further work experience in the Prestige Fine Fragrance Department at Procter and Gamble, focusing on reformulation and odor evaluation. After 2.5 years, and some experience at a pharmaceutical company, Philipp joined certification and testing company SGS as a REACH Project Coordinator, managing the REACH program for a big retailer in the UK.

Katie has over 20 years’ experience in the chemicals, plastics, paints, and coating sectors. She has expertise in planning and executing large market analysis studies, both multi-client and ad-hoc, and speaks French and Spanish.
